Are you successful?/How successful you are?

Just couple of days ago, my wife and I were having a chat on how do people tell that you are successful or you have made it in life.
Most of the question (from my peers) will be "What car are you driving?" or "Have you bought a house?". If your answer is to the affirmative then the next question will be "Where is your house?". If you say your house is at the end of the world, then the person will brag about his house. "My house is just next to the Prime Minister's house." "The land by itself has costs me a bomb".
I would ask, "What is the importance of the questions and you bragging?". Who cares, at least I don't of where are your house is or what car are you driving. Does it mean if you drive a small car like kancil or kelisa or kenari, you are a lesser person than the next.
Doesn't Islam teaches you humility. After all, whatever you have now is just what you borrowed from the All Wealthy. Name me the riches chap in the world and I'd say it still owed to the All Wealthy.
Would you be in a better place if you have a chaffeur driven Mercedez Benz if you forget who your creator is or where would you go after this life?
